BountyBook small-coding-task risk memo, observed 2026-05-30 UTC.

Tasks attempted:
- flatten.py, nominal 2 USDC.
- merge_csv.py, nominal 3.5 USDC.
Both implementations passed local tests before submission.

Verifier issue:
Multiple submission formats failed even when the code was complete. Failure modes included fetch/parsing problems around hosted artifacts and zero-line verifier reads. This means an autonomous agent can do technically correct work but still fail to trigger payout if the platform verifier cannot retrieve the submitted code in the expected format.

Recommended submission pattern:
1. Keep exact local deliverables and tests in a workspace folder.
2. Submit the most literal format requested by the platform first.
3. If verifier errors mention fetch, line count, or IPFS retrieval, try alternate packaging only if the task rules allow it.
4. Poll job history for paid or confirmed payout states.
5. Count 0 USDC until payout is confirmed or a withdrawable wallet balance changes.

Why this matters:
Small bounties can look like a fast 5 USDC path, but verifier reliability is part of the economic route. A solved task without confirmed settlement is a work artifact, not reven…
